REMUS GT3 CHAMPIONSHIP | FINAL

TEAM SHMEE150 COMES OUT VICTORIOUS!

AN EXCITING BATTLE UNTIL THE END

REMUS GT3 Championship Finale

The championship was decided at the last race event of the REMUS GT3 Championship. Team Shmee150 was able to surpass the oppontents and won the championship by a margin of 77 points. „Driver of the day“ and individual standings winner was Shmee150 sim racer Jack Keithley (Williams Esports).

The excitment before the season finale was gigantic. Team Malmedie took the lead of 22 points into the last race event. Therefore every point would count at Macau, which would not be an easy task at this city course, without any run off areas, but many tight corners and twisty turns. Even though Jack Keithley had taken the pole position after the first qualifying, Florian Hasse (Virtualdrivers by TX3) was getting off the line quicker and took over P1 right after the start. During the race Keithley was able to come close to Hasse, taking over P1 seemed impossible. With only a few laps left and a tough fight, Keithley managed finish the race in P1. „The fight with hasse was fair, but very exhausting“, Keithley reportet after the race. In the second race Malmedie driver Marco Pejic (Volce Esports) would start from pole position, as he spun in hairpin and therefore had a DNF in race one. During the second race Pejic was able to show his pace, as he came home with the victory and a time gap of almost 10 seconds.

The tension was high in the mid field, where Keithley, Högfeld and Hasse fought for the victory in the individual standings. Keithley came home in P9, Hasse with P12. This outcome was just enough for Keithley to secure the individual standings and therefore winning a price of over 3000€. Högfeld kept his second position with Hasse in P3.

With Team Shmee150 collecting more points than Team Malmedie, Keithley and Högfeld had another reason to celebrate as Team Shmee150 won the REMUS GT3 Championship. „ Every single racer counted during this Championship“, Shmee150 noted. „Over 6000 points were distributed, and in the end it came down to a difference of only 77 points.“ „These guys delivered a hell of a show! Watching sim races like these you hardly see any difference between these two sports,“ Matthias Malmedie added.
