Norbert Siedler is looking forward to the Daytona 24 Hours

Norbert Siedler’s first race of the year 2016 is just about to take place: From January 28 to 31 the Austrian will start at the 24 Hours of Daytona. He will share a Porsche 911 GT3 R of Park Place Motorsports with the two Americans Patrick Lindsey and Matt McMurry as well as the German Porsche factory driver Jörg Bergmeister.

„I am really happy to get back to Daytona after a one-year-break,” Norbert Siedler says. “I have already worked together with Park Place Motorsports in 2014. Not only in Daytona, but also in a few other races of the United States Sports Car Championship. Park Place is a very professional team.”

First big race of the brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 R

The Daytona 24 Hours is also the first big race of the Porsche 911 GT3 R (type 991). The car is a completely new development of the Porsche AG and was only raced on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife so far. “It is nice to be part of the new Porsche's first customer race. I am sure that the new car is a huge step forward in comparison to the old type 997. We hope that it will be reliable from the beginning. We want to fight for a good result.”

In the GTD-class cars built to FIA GT3 specifications are permitted to enter. There is a maximum number of two professional drivers (category platinum and gold) on every vehicle. “In our case Jörg and me,” Norbert Siedler explains. “Patrick Lindsey is an experienced driver and Matthew McMurry a young talent. With this line-up we should have good chances.”
