Norbert Siedler in Daytona

The Austrian dominated the wet qualifying with his Porsche 911

With an impressive advantage of more than half a second, Norbert Siedler claimed the pole-position for the Daytona 24 Hours. Under wet conditions the Austrian made perfect use of the advantages of the new Porsche 911 GT3 R and secured the first starting-position in the GTD-Class.

“We really did not expect this,” Norbert Siedler celebrated. “It was not easy today, there was nearly no grip on the track. We knew that the Porsche was strong in the rain. Park Place Motorsport gave me an awesome car and I found a really good line.” With his performance Norbert Siedler became first in front of Marc Basseng (Lamborghini) and Leh Keen (Porsche).

For the race, dry conditions are expected. “It is difficult to guess how strong which brand will be in the race,” Norbert Siedler describes the situation. “But as we start from the pole-position, we have ambitious aims for sure.” The race starts at 8:40 PM (CET). There will be a free livestream at imsa.com, the official website of the Daytona 24 Hours.
